The cycle route is marked in green and is rideable in both directions. We recommend using it for a trip from Štiavnica to Banská Belá, or vice versa with a return on the same route.
It passes under the attractive Štiavnica Calvary and there are many viewpoints along it.
We start at the orientation point Vodárenská (101) on an asphalt road that leads to the Botanical Garden to the Štiavnica stairs, which lead to a narrow path carved into the slope. The path later joins a forest road to the Michal adit and a parking lot with a sign marked Hájik.
The route passes under the historic dominant of the town – the Štiavnica Calvary. It then continues across a meadow on a worn path to the stopped Kisyhýbel at the historic Aqueduct, through which water flowed by gravity in the last century from the reservoir in Banský Studenec to the town of Banská Štiavnica. After about 1 km, the asphalt road turns into a dirt road - an old railway track used to run along it in the past, after which this cycle route is named.
It continues along the dirt road above the village of Banská Belá, from where there is a nice view of part of the village, Halčiansky reservoir, and a railway viaduct. At the end, the route joins a local asphalt road and ends at the orientation point Banská Belá (55).
