Sempt-Mangfall cycle path

With the Sempt-Mangfall cycle path, the bike tourist finds a varied and comfortable connection from the Erdinger Land to the Rosenheim Basin at the foot of the Alps. Especially for the start points Munich, Rosenheim, Erding and Wasserburg am Inn, it offers the possibility of attractive circular routes with the existing long-distance cycle paths. The cycle path branches off near the Sempt at Unterschwillach south of Erding from the long-distance cycle path "Through Erdinger Land", leaves the district of Erding near Herdweg and leads east past Markt Schwaben over Forstinning into the Ebersberger Forest. The Sempt-Mangfall cycle path continues through the charming towns of Ebersberg and Grafing near Munich with their historic marketplaces. In Grafing it meets the Panoramaweg Isar-Inn. Before Moosach it leaves the Panoramaweg and crosses the Brucker Moos, with a short steep climb as a reminder that it runs through the moraine landscape of the Alpine foothills. Via Herrmannsdorf, a centre of organic farming, Berganger, Biberg, Schönau and the pilgrimage destination Weihenlinden it reaches the Mangfall and the Munich/Mangfall cycle path near Heufeld. Except for the section through the Ebersberger Forest (road-adjacent cycle path), the route runs on lightly used side roads and well-passable field and forest paths.
