Elbe-Oderhaff Cycle Route
More to see in the water paradise
On this cycling route, it glistens and splashes around almost every bend. The Müritz – Germany's largest inland lake – is the centerpiece of the route. The Müritz National Park begins on its eastern shore. At the Stettiner Haff Nature Park, the cycle path reaches Ueckermünde.

Before Dömitz at the Elbauen, the cycle route passes through Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the Griese Gegend area. This landscape is characterized by picturesque horse paddocks and fields. You can even admire magnificent castles here, such as the Baroque Palace of Ludwigslust. In Neustadt-Glewe, you can explore a medieval fortification. The small town is the gateway to the Lewitz, Germany’s largest contiguous meadow landscape and also a European bird sanctuary. Numerous canals, fish ponds, and especially the Elde invite you to swim and paddle here.
In Röbel, you then reach the Müritz. The picturesque town of Waren (Müritz) is not far away, with its lively harbor forming a charming contrast to the tranquil Müritz National Park. Here, the only sound that breaks the silence is the rustling of leaves. It’s worth getting off your saddle at the Käflingsberg Tower. At 55 meters high, you have a fantastic view of the National Park.
Along the Tollensesee, it goes on to Neubrandenburg. The historic fortifications with the four magnificent city gates can be discovered here during an extended city stroll. The route then continues towards Western Pomerania. At the Stettiner Haff, you arrive in the harbor town of Ueckermünde and have reached the destination of the cycle route.
Worth seeing: Dömitz: colossal pentagonal fortress with museum, charming town center, Elbe bridge | Ludwigslust: Baroque residence palace with sculptures and papier-mâché decorations – now a museum, largest park in northern Germany | Plau am See: old town, castle tower, boat tours | Stuer: Müritz Bear Forest | Röbel/Müritz: restored old town, St. Nicholas Church, St. Mary’s Church | Waren (Müritz): spa, two city harbors, beach promenade, town hall | Neubrandenburg: St. Mary’s Church with one of Germany’s most beautiful concert halls, city wall with four gates, warehouses
