The Erdholländer windmill was built in 1887 on the mill hill, an inland dune. After the mill ceased operation in the last century due to technical progress, it was rebuilt. Instead of the cap with the typical mill wings, it received a viewing platform, and a restaurant was established inside. It lost its mill character in the course of the remodeling.
After the reunification, the mill restaurant was closed. After a comprehensive renovation in 2000, it now serves residential purposes.
