Roadbook
The route begins in the small village of Lietzow, on the southeastern shore of the Great Jasmund Bodden. Kayaks can be launched at a small beach with slightly stony sand. A parking lot exists 200 m away.
From the steep shore of Lietzow, proceed northwards until the Neuhofer Canal is visible on the right side. The 100-year-old “Martinshafen” with 130 moorings is located at the canal's end. A rest can be taken here, but no supplies are available on site.
Now the route goes across the Bodden for a 7 km stretch. Only here does the paddler become aware of how large the body of water actually is. It is paddled westward towards the Tetzitzer See nature reserve with the Banzelvitzer Hills. In the middle of the Bodden, one enjoys a fantastic view. In a southwesterly direction, on a small beach section, lies the Banzelvitzer Berge campsite. This offers canoeists the opportunity to camp overnight.
The route becomes especially impressive when passing by the Ralswiek natural stage. This is the venue for the famous Störtebeker Festival. Thousands of visitors from all over Germany travel to this great open-air spectacle in the far north. About 1.5 km from the natural stage is the Ralswiek harbor, which is suitable for a rest stop.
As a conclusion to the route, it now returns back to Lietzow - the starting point of the route.
Worth seeing: Hafen Neuhof, Tetzitzer See nature reserve, Ralswiek natural stage, Lietzow Castle
