Pay attention to your fitness level and adapt the exercises if necessary. Of course, you can also walk the route instead of jogging. Because it's all about fun and clearing your mind.
If it has rained, there is snow in winter, or too many leaves are lying around in autumn, check how you can perform the exercises. Because nobody wants you to get injured.
Roadbook
Our stair route starts at Marienplatz 2 – the DHBW main building. The first stage leads past the robber's cave, up the stairs to the Mehlsack.
Exercise 1: Calf stretch
Perfect for warming up: We start with a good stretch for your calf muscles. Place your left foot on the third stair step and your right foot on the lowest stair step. Hold the position for about 20-30 seconds, then switch sides. Now your legs are pleasantly loosened and ready for the route.
From the Mehlsack, continue to the Veitsburg – keep going, then you can enjoy the wonderful view! On this staircase, we stop again for a short exercise.
Exercise 2: Tiptoe walk
This exercise is for your body tension. Walk up the stairs on your tiptoes.
At the top, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view over the city. Here you can catch your breath and take a sip of water.
Exercise 3: Cross-leg
This leg exercise is perfect to strengthen your inner and outer thighs. Walk sideways up the stairs in a cross step. Turn halfway and switch the leading leg.
Exercise 4: Push-ups
Go to the viewing platform and support yourself with your hands on the wall. Do 3 sets of 8 push-ups.
Continue through the park to Banneggstraße 6.
Exercise 5: Straight jumps
At Banneggstraße 6 towards Hühnerstallweg, nice stairs lead you back down through the forest. Before going down the stairs, do 3 sets of 10 straight jumps with a 45-second rest each – lift your arms powerfully upward, and jump high off your heel.
Continue towards Zogenfeldstraße. The next exercise is already waiting for you here!
Exercise 6: Side squats
Stand sideways on the stair steps and squat down until your legs form about a 90-degree angle. Go back up and repeat this exercise 10 times per leg.
From Zogenfeldstraße, continue toward Ravensburg train station.
Exercise 7: Stair sprint
Once you reach the station, go down the stairs, sprint through the station underpass, go up the other side again, turn around and repeat it all. Soon you will have made it! We continue towards Hirschgraben.
Exercise 8: Side planks
Arriving at Hirschgraben, the last exercise awaits you. Stand at the stairs, place your hand 2-3 steps above. Stretch the other arm upward. Hold this position for 30 seconds, then switch sides.
Now head back to Marienplatz 2, where we started.
Exercise 9: Stretching to finish
Pull your heel toward your buttocks and hold the tension.
Repeat this exercise twice per leg, holding each for 30 seconds.
You made it! Congratulations! Now it is important to stretch once more.
We hope your mind is now clear!
