Starting from Paradiso, one runs along the entire lakeside promenade of Lugano, crossing Parco Ciani to reach the mouth of the Cassarate river, where you can stop for a break to admire the view of the Gulf of Lugano. The route then runs alongside the river and crosses the iron bridge to reach the other side of the river and then continues in the direction of Cassarate first and then Castagnola. From Castagnola you reach Gandria by running along the Sentiero di Gandria, an unpaved path with little difference in altitude. After getting lost up and down the narrow streets of this romantic and picturesque fishing village, you can choose to return to Lugano by boat or bus.
