Dreamlike running route with a beautiful view of the World Heritage Wadden Sea, the lovely St. Severin Church, and through the picturesque streets of the old captain's village of Keitum.
This varied route impresses with its panoramic view over the Wadden Sea and the island. In good visibility, you can not only see the port of Munkmarsch but also the Kampen lighthouse and the northernmost place List. In the east of the island, you can glimpse the Morsum Cliff and the trains running over the railway embankment. The route runs along a hiking trail on the Green Cliff to the famous St. Severin Church. On the way back, you will enjoy a beautiful route through the narrow streets with wonderfully maintained old thatched-roof houses and gardens of Keitum. An ideal route when the west wind is blowing strongly again, because on the east side, you are sheltered and can fully enjoy nature.

The starting point is the Tipkenhoog parking lot at the end of the village of Keitum. From there, you already have a wonderful view over the mudflats and benches invite you to warm up and stretch. Behind the parking lot, there is a rather steep, firm sandy path leading down to the mudflats. Use this to start your run. Once down, take the paved path to the left, which runs directly along the water. Run towards the church, which you can already see well from there. The St. Severin Church is also the turning point of the route. You can recognize the ascent to the church by a bench standing under trees. Standing in front of the church, turn left onto Alten Kirchweg. Follow this for quite a while until the other end of the village. At the Grünhof riding stable, turn left and circle the edge of the village. When you see the Harhoog dolmen and the Wadden Sea again, you are only a few meters from the starting point.
