On this jogging circuit, we experience the Great Garden - Dresden's oldest and largest park, close to the city center. The course takes us along extensive, mostly flat park paths, mostly fine gravel, partly firm sand and asphalt. Under venerable trees and along the extensive avenues, we collect relaxed kilometers, letting the palm house, palace, sculptures and the park railroad pass us by. The open parkland, numerous ponds and wide meadows give us space to take a deep breath. We encounter joggers, walkers and cyclists - which makes the route particularly suitable for easy basic training. The baroque summer palace, a landmark, is always in sight and particularly worth seeing. The route can be extended, shortened or varied as desired, as the network of paths is dense. It is well worthwhile for fresh air fans and city runners, as the track surface is easier on the joints than pure asphalt courses.
Author’s recommendation
After the run, it's worth making a detour to the Palmenhaus café or the beer garden at the "Café im Park" park railroad stop. In summer, we like to lie on the grass for a few more minutes.

Safety information
At weekends there is a lot of activity from pedestrians, baby carriages and cyclists - please take special care. Paths can be slippery depending on the weather.Roadbook
We start our walk at the Lennéstraße entrance, right on the edge of the park. From there, we take the path towards the palace, keeping to the south-east and initially running flat on the Friedrich-Bouché-Weg, past sculptures and flowerbeds. We walk along wide gravel paths towards the park pond and turn east at the fork, walking through sparse alluvial forest along the pond. We continue along Herkulesallee and circle the southern half of the park, where views of the summer palace open up. We then keep to the Georg-Starcke-Weg, pass the brewery house on the western section and head towards the next avenue. Alternating between open meadow areas and trees, we circle the park on the winding paths until we arrive back at our starting point.
