Ferienregion Reschenpass
Author’s recommendation
The perfect break strategy: Stop at Rescher Alm for a quick energy boost and save your big appetite for Haideralm.
If your legs are feeling tired after the long run and you would prefer a comfortable, knee-friendly descent into the valley, simply sit back and enjoy a relaxing ride down to St. Valentin on the Haideralm gondola lift.

Start: Valley station of the Mutzkopf cable car (Nauders, Austria).
Ascent: The route begins with a challenging climb along forest roads and trails up to the summit of Großmutzkopf.
Border crossing: From Mutzkopf, follow the trail further to the Three-Country Border Stone, the historic meeting point of Austria, Italy, and Switzerland.
Panoramic trail & first break: The route continues along the panoramic trail to the idyllic Rescher Alm (first excellent opportunity for refreshments).
Flow section: Through varied, flowing trails, the route continues in gentle ups and downs towards Schöneben. At this point, more than half of the distance has already been covered.
Final panoramic sprint: The last section of the panoramic trail is a true landscape dream. With views of Lake Reschen and the glaciated peaks of the Ortler group, the trail runs almost flat all the way to Haideralm.
Descent / finish: From Haideralm, the final downhill leads to St. Valentin auf der Haide. Alternatively, the cable car can be used here for a knee-friendly descent.
