Greifensee – Maur – Greifensee: “Greifensee Skate”
The route around the largest lake in Zurich Oberland is one of the classics. It is very beautiful, easy, and a popular destination on weekends. Along the way, there are frequent opportunities to stop for a break or at one of the many rest areas.
Start your ride in the lovely town of Greifensee and circle the lake towards Fällanden. You will ride through the charming small villages around the lake, and it is best to occasionally take a break. Enjoy the atmosphere around the lake and ride at your own pace. The boat pier and promenade in Maur invite you to linger. They offer a wide view over the entire lake. Sit by the water and cool your feet before continuing via Mönchaltorf to Uster. From there, you travel the last stretch along the lake until you return to Greifensee. The path has been specially designed for skaters and cyclists; please be considerate of each other while on the route.
