Around Lake Greifen and Lake Pfäffikon, there are still flat and gently rolling areas, often also characterized by protected moorlands and drumlins. Further east, the mountains of the Oberland rise with Bachtel (1115 m above sea level) in a first chain of hills and the Schnebelhorn (1292 m above sea level) and Hörnli (1133 m above sea level) in the rear range on the border with the canton of St. Gallen.
From these excursion points popular with hikers and bikers, there are wide panoramic views from the Alps, over Lake Zurich and the Zurich lowlands, as far as Lake Constance and the Säntis.
