Klingenmünster was the state winner in 2014 in the "Our Village has a Future" competition and is the recipient of the 1st Demography Award of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The castles Landeck, Schlössel, and Heidenschuh, the monastery in the town center, the Nikolaus chapel, and the Martin tower are gems along the Southern Wine Route and culturally and historically significant treasures of supraregional importance. On discovery tours, they tell exciting stories. The hiking trails Burgen-, Karlsplatz-, Panorama-, and Quellenweg open up a charming landscape with a southern flair.
Klingenmünster is a stage destination for supraregional hiking trails, e.g., Palatinate Wine Trail, Almond Path, and Chestnut Trail, as well as the literary August Becker hiking trail. They lead through lush vegetation, vineyards, and chestnut forests with many viewpoints and rest areas. Culinary delights and fine wines are part of the Klingenmünster hospitality.

Safety information
Due to current events:
Corona guide by the German Hiking Association

General guidelines:
Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal uneven surfaces, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or rainstorms, trees may still fall or branches may drop afterwards. In adverse weather conditions, natural paths may have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Sure-footedness is required in some places. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you believe certain sections are impassable for you, please avoid them.
NOTICE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting associations on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where hiking trails are closed, and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a trail closure or detour, we ask you to heed the instructions for your own safety.
Roadbook
The circular trail connects interesting spring monuments and wells, which are explained by small information boards. The hydraulic ram of the former water supply of Landeck Castle is a relic from the early 20th century. An information board explains its function. From the newly designed Johanna spring, the path leads into the Mühltal valley to the Martha spring and over the mountain saddle to the Röxel spring.
In the castle moat under the access bridge to Landeck is the well of the former water supply of the castle, protected by a sandstone vault. Its source lies below on the mountainside and sends its water down to the ram house. Through water pressure, the hydraulic ram pumped part of the water up to the castle.

Equipment
For our hiking tours, we recommend the following equipment as standard:
Sturdy footwear
Clothing adapted to the weather
Sun and rain protection
A sufficient supply of food and drinks, as there are not always dining or shopping opportunities available or open.
Even though the paths are consistently very well marked, it is advisable for safety reasons to always carry a suitable hiking map so that, for example, in the event of a thunderstorm or an emergency, you can quickly find a safe area.
