The beautiful circular route takes you around Rosenthal, a district of Kerzenheim. It includes only one steeper ascent, alongside which you can see the Keßler Cross, but this can be avoided with a small detour. Variety on the way is provided, for example, by the forest playground above Stauf and a sensory bench. Worth seeing is the monastery ruins, the idyllic Rosenthal pond. There are also places to eat, e.g. the Göllheimer little house or the Kriegsberg hut, which is run by the PWV on Sundays. There are also some resting opportunities for self-supplied hikers.
A good starting point for the hike is the parking lot in the middle of Rosenthal, which is not far from the monastery ruins.
The Rosenweg also has many small parts within the outer circular route, allowing the route to be shortened or extended.
A short detour leads to the Stauf castle ruins. Nearby is also a restaurant called "Zur schönen Aussicht".

- Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will thank you.
- For your own safety, observe all trail closures, even on weekends.

Safety information
Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rains, trees may still fall or branches may break off. Particularly in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can become muddy and slippery in some sections. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Sure-footedness is required in places. You should expect such impairments when hiking. If you feel that certain sections are impassable for you, you should avoid them.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting clubs on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a trail closure or detour, please follow the instructions for your own safety.
Roadbook
The Rosenwege are marked with the red five-petaled rose. For the outer path, always follow the signs with two numbers (1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, and 5-1).
At the beginning, you can orient yourself using the Rosenweg sign at the small pond on Adolf-von-Nassau-Straße.

Equipment
For our hikes, we recommend the following standard equipment:
- Sturdy footwear
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Sun and rain protection
- Sufficient supply of food and drinks, as there are not always places to eat or shop, or they may be closed.
- Even though the paths are very well marked throughout, for safety reasons, it is advisable to always carry a suitable hiking map so that, for example, in the case of a thunderstorm or an emergency, you can quickly find a safe area.
