The themed hiking route "Prehistory and Early History" combines landscape, art, and history. Part of the route follows the sculpture path. The sculptures created by students of the Kaiserslautern master school are based on the themes of water and wood and build a bridge to Rodenbach's Celtic past. Worth a visit is the reconstructed Celtic princely tomb, offering insight into the more than 2,500-year settlement history of the region. The Catholic Church in Weilerbach, with parts from the 12th century, is open daily. Additionally, on Sundays from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, the Reinhard-Blauth Local History Museum in the community center is open (groups also by appointment at other times).

The landscape changes from shady forests over meadows and fields, the local recreation area in Weilerbach, and the "Krausen Bruch" nature reserve in Rodenbach with its distinctive flora and fauna. The charming municipalities of Rodenbach and Weilerbach invite visitors to linger in many locations. In the summer months, refreshment is provided by the cooling water in the Kneipp pool or the Rodenbach forest outdoor pool.

    Roadbook

Starting from the village square at Rodenbach Primary School, follow the marking of the orange jug at the beginning of the sculpture route. At the Rodenbach water house, leave the sculpture route and continue straight through the forest. At the fork to the panorama path, follow the forest path to the right. At the end, the path again leads to the right to the Celtic princely tomb. At the forest festival ground, turn left until you cross district road 25. Here you continue the route along the forest edge to Schellenbergerhof. Then again turn left on the well-developed field path towards Mackenbach.

After 1.5 kilometers, you will reach on the right through the Hardtwald and over the Hardthübel to Weilerbach. Cross the bridge and continue left over the paved farm road. In Weilerbach, walk a short distance along the footpath on Mackenbacher Street and then turn left into Lindenstraße. From here you reach the local recreation area "Busenwiesen" at the end of which is the village square.

At the village square, go right over the stairway path to the street "Im Ehwasen." Continue straight ahead here and after about 200 meters, go left via the footpath to the town center.

In the main street, use the stairway to the Catholic Church, at the end turn left again and you will reach the church (visits possible). Continue over the forecourt to the daycare center, turn left again here and after a few meters, use the footpath of Kirchenhübel to the Protestant Church. In Rummelstraße, the musicians' fountain in front of the building of the collective municipality administration draws attention to the many traveling musicians who from the mid-19th to mid-20th century left our region for distant countries to earn their living there. The path continues to the DRK residential and service center. Here turn right and at the end of the footpath turn left again.

At the edge of the town, follow the farm road until you meet a street (K 19). Here go a few meters to the left along the street, cross it, and follow the bike and footpath towards Rodenbach. After about 1.5 km, after crossing L 356, you reach the brick hut, where you keep right and then left. Through the nature reserve "Krausen Bruch" you go to Rodenbach.

You cross the bridge over the Bruchbach and reach the former pumping station where the teaching garden of the fruit and horticultural association is located. Right next to it is the Kneipp pool. Follow Hübelbrunnenstraße to the large village lime tree and then right through Turmstraße with the bell tower built in 1911.

Upon reaching the main street, cross the street, turn left and behind the bus stop turn right again. Over the Celtic square, you will reach the village square, the starting point of your hike. As a small shortcut, you can also cross the main street at the end of Turmstraße and go straight ahead over the small square with a fountain. You will also reach the Celtic square here and get to the village square.
