A short, relaxing walk through the Sonnenberg vacation village and the Birnbach Valley
UFFBASSE! – Campaign for considerate behavior in nature
- Be considerate while out and about— always act thoughtfully, kindly, and considerately toward everyone you meet along the way. This is especially important on farm roads, where winegrowers, farmers, and foresters work even on weekends.
- Picnic & Trash – Remember to bring a trash bag with you and take your trash home with you. Use only the designated rest areas for breaks and picnics.
- Keep Dogs on a Leash—Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will appreciate it.
We—your fellow visitors and nature—thank you!

Safety information
Use of Farm Roads —Our tours through the vineyards often take us along paths that we share with others. We therefore ask that everyone be considerate and friendly toward one another at all times. Winegrowers, farmers, and foresters use these farm roads through fields, forests, and vineyards for their daily work—including on weekends. Due to work activities and/or weather conditions, the trails may be dirtier at times. Special caution is also required when crossing roads in and around the Palatinate villages. Trail closures and detours must be strictly observed.Dangerous Situations – Should an emergency arise, quick assistance is essential. And even though cell phones can transmit GPS signals, the traditional emergency points are often the fastest way to get help. These are located in spots that are easily accessible to emergency vehicles. Make a note of the locations marked with green signs featuring a white cross. In an emergency, return to one of these locations and provide the number on the sign when you call for help. This way, emergency responders will know where to find you.

Equipment
Sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sun and rain protection, and a sufficient supply of food and, above all, drinks—since places to stop for refreshments or shop are not always available or open—should be packed in your backpack for every hike. Although the trail is marked throughout, you should always carry a suitable map or a hiking app with you for safety reasons.Human-created
