Klosterweg loop "Laubach-Celtic Tour"

The Rengsdorfer Land offers an adventure loop on the premium hiking trail Klosterweg, which combines charming sections of the landscape with a culture steeped in history. The “Laubach-Celtic Tour” begins at the St. Kastor Chapel in Rengsdorf and follows in the footsteps of the Celts on the Klosterweg and Rheinsteig. The "Römergraben" is basically not a Roman moat, but of Celtic origin and got its name in the incorrect tradition. In the direction of Laubachtal, the Klosterweg and Rheinsteig separate, and we follow the Klosterweg along the romantic Laubach Valley towards Ehlscheid to the spa gardens and turn right there. Via the circular route E4 we reach the Laubachtal again, into which we turn left on the road. Along the edge of the meadow we follow the signposted Bonefelder Rundweg B5 and turn right just before the Birkenhof. There is a good opportunity for a rest at the riding stable. We continue to Bonefeld, where we pass the B256 through an underpass. We reach the next stop, the Deichwiesenhof. On the Bonefelder Höhe, we immerse ourselves in the Celtic past of this beautiful Westerwald town. The old castle on B2 lines the way and shows us sketches of an earlier rampart. Now it is not far to the Celtic barrows and a journey into the mystical past. The Laubach-Celtic tour takes us back to Rengsdorf via the Butterpfad, an old trade route. Along the Upper Mühle with an impressive rhododendron park and the “Untere Mühle” housing estate, we come back to the starting point at the St. Kastor Chapel in Friedrich-Ebert-Straße in Rengsdorf (hiking car park).
