From the village of Feistritz, hikers can explore the safe and eventful Geißloch Gorge. At the entrance to the gorge, a spacious barbecue area invites you to a campfire. The newly renovated gorge offers children great play opportunities in and at the water, so nothing stands in the way of an exciting trip.

    Hike at your own risk!

    Author’s recommendation

Where the nearby Drau bike path crosses the fringes of the Geißloch Gorge, there is a barbecue area and a renovated lime kiln. Lime was extracted here until the 1950s.

The Geißloch Gorge can also be hiked from Dellach along the Drau bike path (start: Drauoase, walking time to the gorge approx. 45 minutes).

    Roadbook

From the parking lot in the village of Feistritz, you can reach the beginning of the Geißloch Gorge in a few minutes along the Drau bike path. A narrow trail leads into the gorge. The vegetation quickly becomes sparser, the gorge narrower, and the rock formations more bizarre. With the help of some wooden bridges, you cross the stream several times and penetrate further into the gorge. Shortly before the gorge narrows between the rocks, you reach a resting area that marks the end of the trail. Children will find great play opportunities here, so nothing stands in the way of an exciting day away from the hustle and bustle. The return path follows the already known route.
