Short circular route with challenging inclines and a magnificent view from Beutelsberg
The circular route begins at the parking lot next to the community center and the fire department (main street). There is also a bus stop here, so you can conveniently reach the starting point by bus.
We turn right onto the main street and then immediately turn right again into Breitbachstraße. Leaving the village, we continue to the hiking parking lot at Taubensuhlstraße. Opposite the street next to the Birkenthaler Hof restaurant, we turn half-left uphill onto a path that zigzags up Beutelsberg. We cross a wider forestry road but continue to follow the path uphill.
Once on Beutelsberg, you have an amazing view from the rock over Eußerthal, the Palatinate Forest, and into the Rhine plain.
After enjoying the panoramic view, the descent begins on the opposite side of the hill. Following the path downhill, we return to the hiking parking lot. This time we follow Haingeraidestraße back to the starting point.

Safety information
General information:
Especially in autumn, pay attention that fallen leaves on the ground may hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees may still fall or branches drop later. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can become muddy and slippery. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in places. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you believe certain path sections are impassable for you, you should detour them.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting societies on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. Should you unexpectedly encounter a trail closure or detour, please follow the safety notices for your own protection.
