This extended mountain hike connects some of the most stunning spots on Mount Rigi and treats hikers to breathtaking panoramic views at every turn.
This circular hike starts on the Seebodenalp and initially follows well-maintained trails uphill towards Rigi Staffel. This section is demanding and requires a good level of fitness, but rewards hikers with diverse alpine scenery and increasingly impressive views along the way.
From Rigi Staffel, the route continues to Rigi Känzeli, where breathtaking views of Lake Lucerne and the mountains of Central Switzerland await. The trail then descends through cool mountain forests to Alp Ruodisegg.
The final section follows the scenic moraine trail back to the Seebodenalp. Combining a challenging ascent, magnificent panoramas, shaded woodland paths and welcoming alpine inns, this circular hike offers a varied and memorable experience on the Queen of the Mountains.
