The approximately 6-kilometer circular hiking trail offers fantastic views over the volcanic East Eifel, unique juniper heath areas, and idyllic mixed forests.
The "Arfter Runde" offers a nice introduction for anyone wanting to get to know the unique juniper heaths on a short circular route.
The fairly easy-to-manage circular hiking trail is family-friendly (but not suitable for prams) on well-developed paths through idyllic woodland areas, the juniper heaths, and the village of Arft.
The start and finish of the route and at the same time its highest point is the parking lot at Raßberg above the winter sports facility of the municipality of Arft.
On the Kindgen, directly at the Heidetümpel biotope, there is a beautiful rest area with a stunning view over the volcanic East Eifel. Directly in the village centre, opposite the local dining option, a small spot invites you to rest. Not far from the Arft ski hut below the ski slope, the historic Water House is passed before the path now climbs back to the starting point.
The "Arfter Runde" is marked with the hiking logo of the municipality of Arft with a red dot.

Please do not leave the paths – especially in the juniper heaths.
Particularly in autumn, it should be noted that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, etc., on the path.

Roadbook
The start and finish of the route is the parking lot at Raßberg. After crossing the L10, the path initially leads downhill before turning right towards the summit of Kindgen. Here, at the highest point of the hiking trail, is the "Heidetümpel," a unique biotope, offering a stunning view over the volcanic East Eifel.
Along the forest edge, the route first descends, then continues right to the Wolfsberg viewpoint and straight into the juniper heaths.
After circling the Wolfsberg, it returns towards the L10 and then loops into a bright woodland area. From here, the path continues downhill to the right towards the village of Arft.
In the centre of Arft, the "Eifelschenke" offers a place to stop with fantastic food.
Directly opposite, a small spot with benches invites you to rest.
A little further on, opposite the playground, the village fountain provides a nice refreshment on hot days.
After a short ascent, the route continues along the Quellenweg to the "Old Water House," the source of the Arfter Bach, which also feeds the village fountain, located near the Arft ski hut below the ski slope.
Afterwards, the route gently ascends and returns via a farm track to the starting point at the Raßberg parking lot.
