With the circular hiking trail "Settlers' Loop," the Settlers' Community Wolfach-Oberwolfach has enriched itself with another project, true to its current club motto of maintenance and design of the surroundings around the "Schlössle."

This tour starts at the Weihermatte playground, located to the right at the exit of Wolfach towards Oberwolfach. From the start and information board, the path initially ascends, following the asphalted Rothekreuzbergstraße and the "Schlößleweg" signpost, up to the "Steffelsbach," where after a short climb, passing the Wolfach hospital, a first rest area awaits. At the shaded fountain refreshes the cold spring water, which once supplied the Wolfach hospital with water. The wooden ball track offers plenty of fun for children. The route continues to ascend via steps and then runs further over the panorama path on the Vorstadtberg, with splendid views of the historic old town of Wolfach. Along the way, benches, sun loungers, and a shelter invite pauses, and further along, the refreshing "Eckerlesbrunnen" with a water treading area offers a break. A narrow path then leads toward "Gummweg" and further along following the "Helblingsweg" to Frauenköpfle. On the ridge between Steffelsbach and Weiherloch, one could formerly freely look down south to Wolfach and north to Oberwolfach. These views today can only be enjoyed during leafless seasons. (Here a small side path leads to the "Small Settlers' Loop".) Past historical boundary stones from 1746 through a beautiful deciduous forest, the path continues over "Am Burgeck" and "Am Katzenkopf" to "Elmle" – here a covered seating area with a magnificent view over Oberwolfach and the Wolftal valley offers a wonderful opportunity for a snack break. Refreshed, it goes downhill on forest and small woodland paths, past springs, fountains, and the Burggrabenbach. Here the "Small Loop" also re-enters the route. Past old boundary stones and the "Knecht-Ruprecht bench", it continues to the “Schlößle”, the ancestral seat of the Lords of Wolva, founders of the city of Wolfach, first documented in 1084. The climb up a narrow path to the castle is worthwhile! Here again, a wonderful view opens up of Wolfach downstream, as well as towards Oberwolfach and the Wolftal valley.

Along the forest edge, above the settlers' orchard meadows, the path continues past the shaded grill area "Weiherloch". At the end, the "Drink Fountain" invites a last pause before reaching the starting point again.
