Lace up your hiking boots - it's going up high! Enjoy a wonderful hiking round through the Zipfelbachtal nature reserve with a magnificent view. The Zipfelbach leads you to its source before you pass through an enchanting landscape of forest, orchards, and vineyards at the "Haselstein Quarry" and the "Kleiner Rossberg" viewpoint back to Winnenden.
The starting point of this round is the Alfred-Kärcher-Halle. If you want to refresh yourself before the hike, a visit to the "Schwabenalm" is recommended. In cooler weather, you can enjoy excellent traditional cuisine with a modern flair here. If it's a bit warmer, the beer garden "Bamboo-Lounge" with equally good food is the right address.
Off you go, past the Wunnebad, Winnenden's adventure and leisure pool, known beyond the district's borders. Soon you will reach the little brook that will lead you to its source. The Zipfelbach covers about 18 kilometers before it flows into the Neckar near Poppenweiler, shortly before the Zugwiesen. Until then, it carries water from almost a dozen smaller streams.
Since 2005, there has been a fish educational trail at the Zipfelbach, near the SV club house. It was created by the fishing club "Früh Auf" Winnenden. The beautiful walking path is even suitable for a tour with a stroller.
Along the water it goes into the forest and a gentle climb up to the source of the Zipfelbach. This is located slightly off the beaten track.
It continues uphill along the edge of the forest. After some time, a very beautiful view opens up with the Haselstein in the foreground, the Lemberg in the background, and up to the Wunnenstein.
Now you arrive in the village of Breuningsweiler, which was first mentioned in documents in 1293. From here, the path leads you along the edge of the forest above the Haselstein vineyard. You can enjoy a magnificent view into the Zipfelbachtal before heading to the natural monument "Haselstein Quarry." The up to 12 meter high mining wall of the former quarry can be admired here, as well as the numerous flowers that thrive splendidly from spring to autumn thanks to the south-facing location.
Soon you turn downhill to the "Kleiner Rossberg", a beautiful viewpoint with a grand view over Winnenden. Feel free to linger here and let your gaze wander over the area. With good visibility, you can see as far as Ludwigsburg and Stromberg before the path leads back to the starting point, the Alfred-Kärcher-Halle. If you didn't strengthen yourself at the beginning of the hike at the "Schwabenalm" restaurant, now is an ideal time to do so.
