Ferienregion Nördlicher Bodensee Tourist-Information Pfullendorf
This circular hike leads to the Hundschen Ponds, from whose viewing platform rare bird species can be observed. It then continues along the peat excavation lakes, where a small detour to the Bird Lake is also possible. There is also a viewing platform installed there. Via the Riedhof (Riedwirtschaft) you return through the high forest to Wilhelmsdorf.
If you visit the Wilhelmsdorf Nature Conservation Center and find the Ried educational trails too short, this hike is recommended. Through the Eulenbruck, formerly the mightiest raised bog of the Ried, to the peat excavation lakes, over the former railway embankment to the Ostrach, and over the wide meadows back to Wilhelmsdorf. Along the way, you will pass the pastures of Pinzgauer cattle, Belted Galloways, and Galloways.
