Weiherweg - Wollmesheim

The path begins at the village square and leads through the beautiful Wollmesheim main street heading west. On the left side of the street, notice the flood mark from 1926, the former schoolhouse from the 19th century, the old tithe barn, or the birthplace of Johannes Hoffmann, the former Bavarian prime minister.

The Weiherweg then turns left onto the street "Am Kandel", crosses the Birnbach, which caused the 1926 flood, and after about 100 m continues right on the farm track.

Passing the recreational area with a soccer field, playground, barbecue area, and sports field, the path continues west until the landscape pond is reached. Then follow the path markers south, then west again, then south again, always on farm tracks. On the hill, you can see a row of trees with bushes and the Long Bench. Here you have a wonderful view of the Palatinate Forest, the chapel of the Kleine Kalmit, and over Wollmesheim.

The circular route then continues east on the grass path, which dates back to Franconian times and is also called Fürstweg. After about 2 km, take the left fork and reach the road to Mörzheim, visible to the south.

At the end of the path, you reach the southern edge of Wollmesheim with the Catholic Mauritius Church. Passing this, turn left and then immediately right into Pinselstrasse, cross the Birnbach again, and finally return to Wollmesheim main street, then turn right back to the starting point at the village square. > For refreshment, a visit to the village tavern in the community center is recommended.
