The water educational trail counts as an appeal to everybody, to be aware of the important tasks and correlation of water to our everyday life, as well as reminding us of our responsibility. Water supplies are short and a valuable good in the modern world. On 17 information boards this circular trail informs about the usage, the source but also the healing properties within the meaning of Kneipp treatment. The Schwarzwaldverein Bad Peterstal-Griesbach created the trail and is still the institution maintaining it today.

Starting at the Information board at the town hall, we follow the main street to the Sophia-Spring. The Temple built around the spring, is the most important landmark of Bad Peterstal-Griesbach. We cross the road and walk back about 100 meters. Across from the gas station, we head right towards the forest. We pass the first water treading spot, in a small basin near the “Wendelinsbächle”. We keep walking on shady forest roads uphill to the water reservoir “Fichtensodquelle”.
Now we start the descent back down to the village. We make a stop at the Peterstaler Mineralquellen spring. We follow the Sebastian-Kneipp-Weg to the second water treading spot near the Schlüsselbadklinik. We leave the walkway after about 100 m, cross the small bridge and walk across the schoolyard back to our starting point.
