The 20.4 km long hiking route is named after the mountain and forest god Vosegus and connects the bizarre sandstone rock formations Rödelstein, Haselstein, Löffelsberg, and Buhlstein.
The route starts at the Lindelbrunn castle ruin and, after an initial exploration of the ruin, continues via Hahnenhof, which offers a leisure home for children and youth, to Oberschlettenbach. The idyllic village has a village fountain said to have healing and youth-preserving powers. From Oberschlettenbach, the route continues toward Haselstein. Haselstein is a free-standing rock tower, which, like many rocks in the Wasgau, is used as a breeding site by falcons and eagle owls. However, Haselstein is not the only rock on the route. After conquering Löffelsberg, which belongs to the municipality of Busenberg, the path leads on over Buhlstein and the Buhlstein pillars via Vorderweidenthal to Rödelstein. The rocks of the Wasgau stretch endlessly to the horizon and offer a dream arena for hikers and an eldorado for climbers. But also an open history book!

General guidelines:
Especially in autumn, pay attention to the fact that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes on the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees may still fall, or branches may break off afterwards. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or precipices are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in some places. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you consider certain sections impassable for you, you should avoid them.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forestry work or hunting groups on this platform. However, there are situations where hiking trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a trail closure or detour, please heed the instructions for your own safety.
Roadbook
The 20.4 km long hiking route is named after the mountain and forest god Vosegus and connects the bizarre sandstone rock formations Rödelstein, Haselstein, Löffelsberg, and Buhlstein. Along the route lies the Lindelbrunn castle ruin, which was built as an imperial castle to defend the Trifels in the 12th century.
At the start of the route you are spoilt for choice. You can start in Vorderweidenthal or Oberschlettenbach. Additionally, you can use the hiking parking lot of the Palatinate Forest Nature Park at the Lindelbrunn castle ruin. There is also the option to dine in the served Cramerhaus with overnight accommodation.
We start the route from the Lindelbrunn castle ruin and, after an initial exploration of the ruin, continue via Hahnenhof, which offers a leisure home for children and youth, to Oberschlettenbach. The idyllic village has a village fountain said to have healing and youth-preserving powers. From Oberschlettenbach, you hike towards Haselstein. Haselstein is a free-standing rock tower, which, like many rocks in the Wasgau, is used as a breeding site by falcons and eagle owls. However, Haselstein is not the only rock on the route. After we have conquered Löffelsberg, which belongs to the municipality of Busenberg, we continue via Buhlstein and the Buhlstein pillars through Vorderweidenthal to Rödelstein. The rocks of the Wasgau stretch endlessly to the horizon and offer a dream arena for hikers and an eldorado for climbers. But also an open history book! From Rödelstein it goes back to the Lindelbrunn castle ruin, which, after many changes of ownership in the 14th century, was finally divided and became a joint inheritance castle. It was destroyed in 1525 during the Peasants’ War and was never rebuilt afterwards.
