Hikers enjoy a hearty snack while taking in the panorama of the Karwendel to the east and the Wetterstein to the west, as well as the sight of grazing alpine cattle on the lush meadows.
Wallgauer Alm (1,548 meters)
This route is best started at the town hall in Wallgau, accessible via the eponymous bus stop. From there, head first towards the village square, then over Sonnleiten onto hiking trail no. 454, which later leads into a narrow forest path. The steadily ascending trail ends at the forest road, which you follow to the Wildbädermoos service hut. Here, keep right and continue for about 30 minutes until you reach Wallgauer Alm.
Those who want to continue hiking can reach Krüner Alm, located about 100 meters higher, via a 45-minute hike across the alpine meadows.

Those who are not done hiking can continue from Sonnleiten to Krepelschrofen.

From the direction of Munich A95 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen, then B2 to Krün and then to Wallgau; alternatively, take the Kochel exit on A95 and go via Walchensee on B11 to Wallgau. From the direction of Innsbruck B177 to Seefeld and Scharnitz, then B2 to Krün and then to Wallgau.
