A beautiful walk with a steep ascent to the Kühungerfelsen located on the premium hiking trail Rimbach-Steig. The climb is worth it!
The start of the approximately 5.5 km walk is at the parking lot of the Hubertushalle in Schwanheim. From there, follow the signs of the premium hiking trail Rimbach-Steig to the Wasgauhütte Schwanheim. At the Wasgauhütte, you will find both an orientation panel and detailed trail signage.
Follow the Rimbach-Steig logo up a steep hollow path to the ridge, at the end of which lies the Kühungerfelsen.
At the top, leave the premium trail and turn sharply left to the rock. The reward for the steep climb is a magnificent view of the Hauenstein holiday region and the Palatinate Forest Biosphere Reserve.
For the return, the following route is recommended: back from the rock the same way. Then follow the Rimbach-Steig logo towards Hühnerstein.
After a short gravel section, turn right onto a path over a hill. Behind it follows a saddle. Behind the saddle, walk half-right briefly towards Dicke Eiche and then descend a wide forest road to the Wasgauhütte and from there to the starting point at the Hubertushalle.
#Watch out! For consideration and nature protection
Hiking, walking, strolling, cycling, mountain biking, climbing, trekking, picnicking, forest bathing, relaxing and dining. Vacation and free time in the fresh air should be fun and above all relaxing. This works best if we treat ourselves, others and nature with care and mindfulness. SO: PAY ATTENTION AND THINK! Be considerate of everyone on the way and especially the nature, so that we can still enjoy it in the distant future.
At www.pfalz.de/uffbasse we have listed some behavioral tips for a considerate and careful coexistence.

WasgauhütteSafety information
Despite the trail markings, for safety reasons, we always recommend having a suitable hiking map with you so that you can quickly find a safe area in case of a thunderstorm or emergency.
Especially in autumn, be aware that leaves lying on the ground can hide uneven spots, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After storms, trees may still fall or branches may drop. In adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections. You have to expect this kind of trail impairment when hiking. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is sometimes required. If you think you cannot manage certain trail sections, you should avoid them.
