Not all Kľaks are the same. Many of you surely know the one in the Malá Fatra, but here in Turiec we can also boast of the one in Veľká Fatra with an altitude of 1,394 m above sea level.
It is 42 meters higher than its more famous namesake. Several hiking trails lead to the summit. The blue tourist mark from Podhradie is shorter but steeper than the one from Sklabinský Podzámok. After climbing through the forest, you reach the Košariská meadow, where you already know you are close to the destination. The summit is rocky but offers views of the Turiec basin, the ridge of Krivánska Malá Fatra, almost the whole of Veľká Fatra, and also the Western, High, and Low Tatras. The steep descent follows the yellow tourist mark to Sklabinský Podzámok.
