Through the cool, moss-covered valley (pram-friendly)

The post bus takes us from Laufen to the Röschenz Dorfplatz stop in four minutes. We head towards Schachlete and shortly arrive at a well-equipped playground. After the children have explored the climbing tower with slide and other equipment, we continue our hike. We leave the hiking trail and turn left into Rübackerstrasse. On the destination path, along the residential area, we gently ascend to the edge of the Hinterfeld high plateau. Here begins the descent into the Schachletetal. After the bend in the valley floor, the path quality worsens briefly. At the Schachlete signpost, a particularly romantic and pleasantly cool stretch of path in summer begins. A moss-covered floodplain forest, rocks shaped by water thousands of years ago, and occasionally a small brook line the way. At the Vitaparcours, we leave the valley floor and reach the height of the Brumberg. Passing a barbecue area with a fountain, we come to another playground. Because the marked hiking trail leads into the town via a long staircase, we go left at Waldeckenach. At the hospital, we meet the yellow signposts again, which lead us through Untertor into the old town. We stroll through the broad main street with stately townhouses and inviting cafés to Obertor and shortly afterwards reach Laufen train station.
