A 16-kilometer route leads to the only forest fountain in Hungary. The unique fountain character comes from the fact that only part of the precipitation leaving the top of the mountain flows down in surface creek beds. Another part collects in natural basins surrounded by various impermeable layers inside the mountain and trickles from there. If this basin is higher than the outlet opening, the water gushes out under high pressure, as in the nearby Imó-kő spring. If the opening is luckily positioned so that water can only escape upwards, it shoots out like a fountain nozzle once sufficient pressure is reached.
The route is best timed for the first warm days of spring to experience the most spectacular water column.
