How animals and plants and last but not least residents and guests of the Palatinate Forest Biosphere Reserve benefit from natural darkness and how this can be promoted is the aim of the biosphere reserve with its Sternenpark project. As one of the measures to educate guests and residents of the Palatinate Forest about light pollution and its consequences or its avoidance, this information path was established.
The circular route, walkable during the day and a bit more than five kilometers long, is an almost flat forest path with a beautiful view that leads around the Ruppertstein castle ruins and can be used by a wide range of people and already is. Along the route, which starts at the Lemberg Castle hiking car park, there are 12 large information panels informing about light pollution and the protection of the natural starry sky.
