Roadbook
Further on, we reach an abandoned fishpond and the remains of a dismantled bridge across the canal. A cobbled road from here leads to a small riverside shipyard near Bački Monoštor.
Bački Monoštor lies within the Special Nature Reserve of the Upper Danube, surrounded by branches of the Danube–Tisa–Danube canal system and wetlands that once formed part of the natural floodplain. Passing through the village, we follow the main road to its edge before turning right onto a dirt track that crosses the open fields toward Sombor.
Before entering the town, the route crosses the Bačka Canal once more, this time over a disused railway bridge. From here, the final stretch leads into Sombor, the historic administrative centre of the Bačka region.

Equipment
This stage of the Sultans Trail requires standard long-distance hiking equipment. Weather protection is essential, including rain and cold gear, depending on the season. In late spring and early summer, mosquito deterrents are strongly recommended, while during the hot season, sun protection and a sufficient water supply are essential. Reliable offline navigation tools should be carried at all times.Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.
