Leaving Čunovo, the trail follows the narrow land strip between the Danube and the Gabčíkovo reservoir. At the starting point stands the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, built on a peninsula extending into the river. From here, the embankment continues along the reservoir, whose broad water surface was created by the damming of the Danube. Further on, the route enters the floodplain landscape near Vojka nad Dunajom. Side channels, islands, and wooded wetlands lie between the embankments. These islands are connected by low dams that may be submerged during periods of high river levels. The stage ends at Bodíky, one of the villages built on slightly raised ground along the edge of the floodplain, between the reservoir and the former branches of the Danube.

Safety information
Be aware that water levels in the Danube and its tributaries may vary considerably. At high water, the shoreline passages and the dams in the floodlands may be submerged. Care is needed when crossing the permeable dams that link the islands. In periods of high water, the river quietly reclaims these crossings, covering them in a thin, slippery film of water.Tips and suggestions
