Art trail through the village of St. Martin and the surrounding vineyards with various artworks and studios along the way.
The St. Martin art trail is part of the Maikammer, Kirrweiler, St. Martin art trail. In the St. Martin section, there are three possible circular routes ranging from 4.1 to 4.8 kilometers.
Currently, there are two large artworks along the route:
1. "I believe I can fly" by artist Gleb Dusavitskiy (2023) - Like sketched into the landscape with fine strokes, a delicate arrangement of luminous intertwined stainless steel rods stands on an exposed plateau. These form a spread pair of wings and create the illusion of a young bird of prey ready for its first flight over the sea of vines.
2. "to see beyond" by artist Tim Norris (2023) - As a harmonious symbiosis of landscape and art, the work invites you to enjoy the wide view into the Rhine plain. It consists of an inner layer of stretched sailcloth providing protection and shade to the seated person, while the outer layer made of local vine knots refers to the surrounding vineyards.
Additionally, four local studios are integrated into the route (please observe opening hours).
1. Sculpture Garden Josef Willerich, Bergstraße 2 - His garden contains numerous wooden sculptures of various shapes, styles, and sizes. The chainsaw is his tool.
2. Kleinod an der Kirche Dorothea Rackow, Kirchstraße 11 - Charming Elwedritsche are handmade in the ceramic workshop from clay.
3. Atelier I rothpauser Anja Roth and Herbert Pauser, Kirchstraße 5 - Exhibitions of national and international artists take place in artist Anja Roth's studio.
4. Katsches Kelterhaus Heiko Diehl, Haardtgasse 4 - Focus of the gallery is on works by artists related to the South Palatinate cultural region.

Roadbook
Section 1 - 4.1 km length
From the starting point on Tanzstraße, head uphill into Haardtgasse past Katsches Kelterhaus (house number 4), at the end of which you reach the vineyards at Haardtmadonna. From here, go downhill on the wine and stone educational trail until you reach the first artwork "I believe I can fly" - the pink wings - on the left.
Then we cross the main road and take the path straight through the vineyards. At the second crossroads, go left downhill and at the end turn left again back towards St. Martin. At the end of the service road, we cross the main road once again to then return via Maikammererstraße to the starting point.
Section 2 - 4.4 km length
From the starting point on Tanzstraße, go uphill into Kirchstraße past Atelier rothpauser (house number 5) and Kleinod an der Kirche (house number 11), opposite the church, then right continuing into Bergstraße (here you can also take a detour left to the Sculpture Garden Josef Willerich (house number 2)). We cross Totenkopfstraße and turn into Jahnstraße. Jahnstraße ends and turns into a vineyard path. At the very beginning, on the right, stands the artwork "to see beyond". The path continues a short distance straight ahead before it turns right opposite a seating area. Here, continue straight downhill until you reach Mühlstraße in Maikammer. Turn right there, passing the almond trees. Cross the main road and take the vineyard path straight downhill. Upon reaching the dip, turn right towards St. Martin. At the end of the service road, we cross the main road again, then return through Maikammererstraße to the starting point.
Both sections can also be combined into one hiking trail.
