The walker can look forward to a "scenic" tour through a traditionally cultivated cultural landscape.
Celts – Romans – Christians
In the south of St. Andrä, recognizable Celtic tumulus graves are still located in the Ettinger depression. West of the village Etting runs a Roman road. Etting was the center in early Christian times with the St. Michael's Church in the village, belonging to a "vast parish".

The starting point is the St. Andreas Chapel, known as a calendar and postcard motif. A field path runs eastward on the north side of the church enclosure toward Eberfing. After a short distance, turn north and head toward the Ettinger scattered farms. To do this, the hiker crosses the district road leading to Eberfing and continues north along the paved path through "die Au" (an old field name). At two large oak trees, turn right and continue through Etting's fields and meadows. Upon reaching the "lower Eberfinger Weg," turn left westbound to the Etting-Deutenhausen intersection or B2-Eberfing. Here, return toward the village and proceed to the "Zum Schafberg" turnoff and ascend it. At the highest point with three lime trees and a large stone cross, take the time and leisure to sit on the bench there. One might rate the offered panoramic view as "almost grandiose" including everything the Pfaffenwinkel has to offer! Actively farmed and well-maintained fields/meadows, forest, large solitary trees, the picturesque St. Andrä, and the Alpine chain from Benediktenwand, Heimgarten over to the Zugspitze. Then continue past two farmsteads, turning west again toward the village. After a short stretch, at the next crossroads, turn left and your starting point – St. Andrä – is already in sight.
