Die zwei Kirchen St. Michael (16. Jh.) und St. Andrä (18. Jh.) sind Ettings optische Mittelpunkte - besonders St. Andrä ist weitum als idyllische Hochzeitskirche bekannt. Bis 1804 fand an der St. Andräkirche ein Markt statt, den der Weilheimer Magistrat übernahm und welcher noch heute jeden 1. Adventssonntag in Weilheim abgehalten wird.

Durch Hügelgräberfunde um St. Andrä steht fest, dass ab 2000 v.Chr. Menschen dort sesshaft wurden. Das älteste Etting lag im Umfeld der Andreaskirche, was auch Artefakte von römischen Gräbern darlegen.
