Spiaggia Marinella, Spiagge del Buondormire di Terra and di Fuori (or di Mare)
Little Fish Trek
Obviously – for the sole purposes of bathing and "sunbathing" 🌞 – kayaking (or pedal boat) from Spiaggia della Marinella is by far the most comfortable solution.
Therefore, in my opinion, this is a mini-tour to be planned between autumn and early spring.
For the departure time, keep in mind that during months with little daylight, Spiaggia del Buondormire di Fuori or di Mare goes into shadow quite early.
I rated the difficulty as "T4" because 10-15 minutes are indeed difficult on a general hiking scale and should be considered even if the rest is very easy.
To "close the half-day", I added a quick visit to Fortino di Monte d'Oro and Torre di Calafetente.
Borrowing the title of an old song, this excursion can be renamed… "The Winter Sea".

This itinerary was traveled on December 31, 2025, and all subsequent observations and considerations can fully apply only to that day.
I describe only the descent to the Spiagge del Buondormire because the rest is very well known and simple.

Spiaggia del Buondormire di Terra and Spiaggia del Buondormire di Fuori or di Mare, by land from Palinuro
After visiting Spiaggia della Marinella, I headed toward Via Belvedere along SP 239 until reaching the km 1 sign.
Twenty meters later – and just before the fenced area with the large Tenuta Punta Galera sign – there is an opening between two sections of guardrail where a clear path down the thicket towards the sea begins.
After the very first meters of descent, I saw a walkway turning right and "almost disappears" against a fence, and after a few more meters to the left, I saw another path going straight towards a private area.
I turned downward more or less along the steepest slope into a wooded clearing where there are a couple of parallel lines and where, despite the grass that should consolidate the soil where it regrows, one can already notice some instability of the walking surface.
The "positive side" (so to speak) of the instability is that "human sole footprints" remain as proof that it is a track used for some purpose.
I carefully followed the faint and marked trace with footprints sometimes partially covered by low shrubs, until reaching the exposed edge of the high and steep rocky band surrounding Spiaggia del Buondormire di Terra.
Here care is needed because there are some meters of ledge-like very exposed path: it is probably a forced section because the walkway is more solid than before, almost a real little path… suitable for goats 🐐, but remains very exposed and with some twists to carefully follow.
The ledge-like section bends to the right and arrives above a steep and wide slope outside the small wood where the clarity of the ground trace is somewhat lost.
However, the direction remains logical, and one reaches a steep staircase from which, looking a bit down and forward-south, you can see the stairs descending to the sea below the "King's Residence Hotel," and these must be reached for the last meters of descent.
This spot is also delicate despite the presence of supporting rocks because they are "surrounded" by almost sandy soil where the little grass gives some solidity but not as much as desired.
On the descent, I followed one line, but on the ascent, I took another that seemed better to me from below.
Once at the lowest part of the staircase, it is a short walk to the beaches… without leaning on the wooden railing, which has several collapsed sections.
To date, even the last steps for Spiaggia del Buondormire di Terra are partially collapsed and not restored.
Each person can choose if and how much to use the lower part of the staircase.
