Siná from Demänovská Jaskyňa Slobody
The route to the summit of Siná (1,560 m above sea level) from the Demänovská Jaskyňa Slobody is a popular hike in the Low Tatras. Siná offers beautiful views of the Demänovská valley, Liptov, and the surrounding mountains. It is accessible year-round.
The start is at the parking lot near the Demänovská Jaskyňa Slobody (approx. 870 m above sea level). From there, follow the yellow hiking trail towards Siná. The first sections lead through a forest path with a gentle ascent. Along the way, you pass meadows and smaller rock formations. The yellow trail takes you to the Bôrová hoľa junction (1,316 m above sea level). This spot is ideal for a short rest and refreshment. From the junction, continue on the yellow trail, with the ascent gradually becoming steeper. The path leads through a dense forest, which gradually opens up.
The last part of the ascent is more demanding and leads through rocky passages. You need to be careful, especially in wet weather, as the rocks can be slippery. In approximately 2 to 3 hours (depending on your fitness), you will reach the Siná summit (1,560 m above sea level), which offers panoramic views:
To the north, you see the Liptov basin and the Western Tatras. To the south, the peaks of the Low Tatras stretch out before you.
For the descent, use the same route, i.e., back along the yellow trail to Demänovská Jaskyňa Slobody. The total hike time is approximately 4–5 hours, with moderate difficulty.
