This route leads through the historic old town, past significant sights, and offers charming views of the surroundings.
The approximately five-kilometer-long, easy hike begins at Eichstätt Stadt station and first crosses the Spitalbrücke directly into the historic old town. After a few minutes, you reach the cathedral square with the impressive Eichstätt Cathedral, which dates back to a foundation in the 8th century and today serves as the cathedral church of the diocese. From there, the route continues through the narrow streets of the old town, past baroque townhouses and small shops, until you reach the edge of the city center. Here begins a section of the so-called Nüsslerweg, a short urban hiking trail that is well suited for a leisurely round. The route now continues along part of the Panoramaweg, which lives up to its name and offers beautiful views of the Altmühltal.
