Scenic around Waldbronn and Karlsbad

At Busenbach station, you first follow the country road south towards Bad Herrenalb. After the tram overpass, turn left uphill into the forest to the location "Hetzeltal/AVG Bridge". From there, continue straight on the wide path, always keeping an eye on the railway line and the access road to the left. Passing the location "Im Hetzeltal" and then at the location "Hetzeltal/Alter Mühlenweg", a small variant to the left through the Waldbronn spa park is permitted. After about 500 m, you reach the tram stop with the location "Stop/Kurpark". From there, the path and stairs lead up to the Waldbronn district of Etzenrot and immediately at the town entrance to the location "Etzenrot/Bildstock". Following the street straight ahead, you arrive at the location "Etzenrot/Town Center". Here you also continue straight on the main road past the junction to the location "Etzenrot/Hohbergstraße". Here, turn left into the side street uphill about 150 m to the location "Etzenrot/Spielberger Straße". Now turn right leaving Etzenrot and enter the forest towards Karlsbad-Spielberg after a few meters. But soon you leave the forest again, and at the barbecue hut with the location "Barbecue Area/Etzenrot", you already have a wonderful view from below of the higher situated Spielberg. Passing the rainwater retention basin, continue on the field path into Spielberg to the location "Spielberg/Karlsruher Straße". There is also a quick coffee available at the bakery. The path now leads left, following the main road past the Volksbank and Sparkasse banks to Spielberg primary school at the location "Spielberg/Primary School". Continuing straight, you cross the tram under the bridge and walk parallel to the country road to the forest edge at the location "Old Spielberger Street" at the forest parking. Here, follow the path right along the forest edge. This is also the Spielberg Cultural Trail. After just under a km, this cultural trail ends and you reach the adventure playground on the left at the location "Hamberg/Forest Playground". If the corn is not growing high, there is a wonderful view to Malberg and Dobel. Continuing along the forest edge, after 400 m turn right and then immediately left down to the district road L622, after crossing it continue to the small footbridge over the Bocksbach and then back up to the forest edge and the location "Bocksbach Footbridge". Here turn right on the concrete path along the forest edge for about 300 m to the location "Herrmannsee". The path here leads left to Herrmannsee. This small pond was artificially created in the 1970s and today is a meeting place for many amphibians in the region. The hiker walks here on the former railway embankment from Langensteinbach to Ittersbach. Today, it is a nature trail of the municipality of Karlsbad. After about 600 m, you reach the barbecue area and after another 400 m the forest parking at the Ittersbach industrial area and the location "Forest Parking/Old Railway Embankment". From here continue straight but on the left path slightly downhill towards Auerbacher Footbridge. After 200 m, the path curves widely to the left and heads north. You reach the redwood trees in the Auerbach valley. Continue straight ahead to the pavilion right below the path at the location "Pavilion/Lower Köpfle". Then slightly downhill to the right to the crossroads at the location "Auerbach Footbridge", from here turn left slightly uphill. After 200 m, you leave the forest, keep left and after another 200 m at the location "Köpfle" turn right onto the concrete path. Now follow this field path to Langensteinbach, first left past the cemetery, through the residential area down to Langensteinbach town hall and the location "Langensteinbach/Town Hall". Continue right past the bakery (with café) straight into the small street, also straight ahead, cross the country road L562 and continue straight uphill following the road. After leaving the town, a little further at the forest parking with the location "Parking/Rappenbusch", turn left into the forest. It is still the Northern Edge Trail, leading north past the location "Rappenbusch", at the hut turn left and go to the large dam of the rainwater retention basin. On this dam, you reach country road L563, cross it, keep to the left on the other side of the road and always walk along the forest edge slightly uphill. On the left, you can see the farmsteads "Steinig" and far in the back, the first houses of Waldbronn can be seen. After about 1.5 km from the last country road crossing, you reach Waldeck at the location "Upper Steinig", here turn left continuing on the farm road to the traffic light intersection, cross the intersection and go straight ahead parallel to the road to the water reservoir with the location "Water Reservoir". Here take the field path half-right, after about 800 m turn right and then immediately left again to the location "At Zehntpfad". The path now leads left after about 200 m to the location "Busenbach/Mittelgewann". Continue straight down to Busenbach, a district of Waldbronn. Arriving at the main road at the location "Busenbach/Town Center", walk a bit right along the main road and about 200 m left into Anlegerstraße diagonally left down, passing the location "Busenbach/Station Street", you reach the starting point of the large circular hike and the location "Station/Busenbach".
