The gentle hills of Rust and the exceptional microclimate of Lake Neusiedl allow very special wines such as Ruster Ausbruch DAC to mature here! The trail runs mostly along the municipal boundary of Rust (Hotter). The first part is a gentle uphill climb, followed by a hike along the “ridge” of the Rust hills, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the lake. On this circular route, you can observe the development of the vines and the seasonal activities in the vineyard particularly well. After the hike, we recommend a glass of Ruster Ausbruch—you've earned it!

Arriving by train:Lake Neusiedl is easy and convenient to reach by train. Whether you are traveling from Switzerland, Germany, western or southern Austria, you can relax and change trains at Vienna Central Station. ÖBB regional trains will take you to Neusiedl am See station in just under 40 minutes, where coordinated bus and train connections to Eisenstadt are also available. From there, you can continue your journey to Rust by bus.
