The Ruheoasenweg to the Hochglocker is perfect for anyone who wants to do a summit hike without much effort. The view extends from Sonnblick over the Heukareck to the Tennengebirge. Simply wonderful!
The Ruheoasenweg in St. Veit is worth a visit! You start at the Kinderalm parking lot – the Schweigekloster in St. Veit. Then it goes comfortably on the forest road towards the summit. After about 15 minutes, you reach the 1st Ruheoase on the left side of the path. Take a break and enjoy the peace.
After about 1.5 hours, you reach the summit, which is beautifully designed all around with wooden loungers and tables. There is also a barefoot path below the summit.
Author’s recommendation
With a detour of about half an hour, you reach the Pronebenalm. This is one of our favorite huts: great service, very good snacks and a great view from the terrace! Unfortunately, there is no hut on this route to the Hochglocker.

Roadbook
You drive through the town of St. Veit by car. After the football field, turn left up the mountain and then always keep to the right. After a few kilometers, you will reach the Kinderalm parking lot.
The hiking trail to the Hochglocker is very well signposted. Most of the path is a wide forest road – so it is easy to walk for everyone. The last section to the summit is a steep and narrow forest path.
After about 1 - 1.5 hours of ascent, you reach the summit and can enjoy the fantastic view! Have fun :-)
