Route 1.6 Ebenstein 2123 m

Upwards on forest road 836, higher up shortening the switchbacks of the "Russenstraße" to the high plateau of the Sonnschienalm. Shortly before the Sonnschienhütte, a fork in the path leads towards Schafhalssattel and Ebenstein. On trail 829, moderately uphill through alpine pasture and open forest until the Sonnschienbrünndl, where the path to Ebenstein branches off. Now over open terrain and larch corridors on trail 831 to the small Ebenstein. After a meadow plateau to the slightly rocky summit formation of the great Ebenstein, which consists of several peaks with varying views. Descent along the ascent route, including a stop at the Sonnschienhütte.
