A light hike that leads from the village of Pregasina to the rock outcrop of Punta Larici in 1 hour and 40 minutes. At about 900 meters elevation, the view from up there is one of the most beautiful at any time and in any season around the whole Lake Garda.
Punta Larici lies between Lake Garda and the Ledro valley; the approach is easy and the forest path requires no special technical skills. On the exposed section from Bocca Larici to Punta Larici, you just need to be a bit careful.
When you are there, you will understand exactly why Lake Garda is called an alpine lake with Mediterranean flair by many. The locals go there whenever they feel like a light walk to stretch their legs. They've done it a thousand times but are still not tired of it.
Author’s recommendation
Avoid holidays and weekends if possible, because this route is so easy, scenic, and Instagrammable that you will encounter many people along the way. Finding a parking spot could be difficult.
The parking spaces in Pregasina are small and free: set off early in the morning for a better chance of finding a parking spot. In the early morning hours, especially in summer, visibility is also clearer (and less crowded). This way you can more easily see far into the south of the lake.
At the church you will find a fountain where you can refill your water bottle. With a packed lunch, a break with a view at Bocca Larici or Malga Palaer—which is 10 minutes from Bocca Larici—is worthwhile.

Tips and suggestions
If you want to walk a bit more, you can start from Riva del Garda on the Ponale road. When you reach Regina Mundi, keep going straight on the main road to the small church of Pregasina. This extends the route by about 2 hours (total length one way: approx. 10 km - elevation gain: approx. 900 m). If the round trip is too exhausting, you can take the bus from Pregasina back up or down to Riva del Garda.
Roadbook
From the parking lot below the church of the small village of Pregasina, follow the forest road to Malga Palaer via trail 422b up to Bocca Larici.
We hike on an easy forest trail that mostly goes through the woods, with some viewpoints at the start of the route that only give a small preview of what awaits us at Bocca Larici.
At the forest exit at Bocca Larici, take the path to the left, which leads to the Punta Larici viewpoint in 5 to 10 minutes. Be a little careful here, especially with children, as the spot is exposed. The return is on the same trail.
