Poludnica from Iľanovo to Závažná Poruba

Poludnica is a very attractive peak for hikers. It rises to an altitude of 1548 meters above sea level and is only 7 kilometers away in a direct line from the center of Liptovský Mikuláš. Thanks to this, there is a beautiful view of the entire Liptov region from Poludnica.
The shortest ascent is marked with a blue trail from the village of Iľanovo and although it is only 5.5 kilometers, you should allow at least 2h30min to overcome almost 900 meters of elevation gain. On the way back, you can either return the same way or descend by the yellow trail to Závažná Poruba or continue on the blue trail to the saddle below Kúpeľ and connect with the yellow trail to Závažná Poruba by the green trail. Our proposed route follows the last option mentioned.

From Poludnica there is not only a beautiful view, but there is also a great stone peak, which is a perfect spot for taking photos. In the background, the iconic peak Kriváň can be seen.
