- Pianazzola: Dreamy little village above Chiavenna with a magnificent view of the town and the surrounding mountains. A steep stair path leads up through gardens and vineyards.
- Chiavenna: In Chiavenna, the busy 'Viale Maloggia' branches off at the bus stop 'Chiavenna, Ospedale' (those coming by bus from St. Moritz can already get off here) into the 'Strada per Pianazzola' going upwards, at the end of which a stairway leads straight up the slope towards Pianazzola. The first of the few red waymarkings can also be found here.
- Chiavenna - Pianazzola: The path initially runs parallel to the bed of a torrent, crosses it, and continues uphill via switchbacks and stairs. At a fork further up (approx. 530m elevation), either the right or the left path can be chosen - both lead up to Pianazzola.
