Philosophenweg Triesenberg

The trail first leads north along the Philosopher's Path to the small Walser settlement of Masescha. It's worth stopping off at the Masescha mountain restaurant and enjoying the famous covered apple pie on the sunny terrace. After this refreshment, the route continues to the scattered settlement of Vorder-Prufatscheng at 1210 m above sea level. M. and then slightly downhill to Hinter-Profatscheng (1110 m above sea level). The view of the Rhine Valley and the beautiful Walser houses as well as the well-tended cultural landscape make this trail a special experience.

From Hinter-Prufatscheng, the mountain trail is well marked and climbs 350 meters in altitude through sparse mountain forest up to Gaflei at 1483 m above sea level. The climb is well worth it, as the view from Gaflei down into the valley is spectacular. It is not surprising that tourism in Liechtenstein began right here with the construction of the Kurhaus around 1908. After the steep ascent to Gaflei, the route continues at a leisurely pace via Silum (1469 m above sea level) back to the starting point at Gnalp (1201 m above sea level) and from there back to Rizlina.
