Panorama Trail

The name “Panorama Trail” says it all: Along the section that runs along the edge of the forest, you’ll repeatedly be treated to beautiful, sweeping views of the “Blue Wall”—the Swabian Alb—with the striking peak of the Dreifürstenstein, as well as the Hohenzollern Mountains with their imposing castle. A little further west, the picturesque Wurmlinger Chapel towers over the Neckar Valley, and on days with particularly clear visibility, you can even spot the Test Tower in Rottweil on the horizon—a fascinating sight that impressively underscores the vastness of the landscape.

The section through the forest is a bit quieter and more relaxed, where the hike transitions from open expanses to a quieter, shadier atmosphere. Here, take the time to quietly enjoy the magnificent beech-oak forest with its valuable old-growth trees and let the special forest atmosphere wash over you. Among the gnarled trees—some of which are centuries old—you can experience nature in a particularly striking way before the trail leads you back into the light.
